Sonder Studio Gallery is a social enterprise committed to creating a space for human rights visual storytelling. https://www.sondergallery.com/
The Sonder team is embarking on the important project of reaching out to artists who have, or are, residing in refugee camps all over the world, to invite them to participate in exhibitions, to tell their visual stories, raise awareness and gain exposure.
Sonder means: Everyone has a story'.Sonder will be exhibiting PRINTS of the refugee artists' artworks and exhibiting them in the 'Global Need For Healing' exhibition during Refugee Week in June at Sonder Studio Gallery COOROY QLD and in October at the Rural Australians For Refugees National Conference in the Blue Mountains NSW.
People have been living or dying in limbo in refugee camps all over the world and we want to raise funds to bring about awareness and give refugee artists a platform to tell their stories. We are SEEKING SPONSORS for each artwork to enable refugee artists to submit their prints into the exhibition.
For $100 you can sponsor the exhibition quality, cotton rag, printing of ONE ARTWORK, of participating artists from asylum seeking or refugee backgrounds. You will retain the A2 artwork print. More importantly you will enable the artist to share their story and gain exposure to earn from future sales from ongoing participation in this collaborative exhibition.

The Refugee Week Exhibition at Sonder Studio Gallery will include Sunshine Coast Refugee Action Network Community Project
The Sunshine Coast Refugee Action Network has invited groups in the community to decorate giant letters that form a public message to welcome refugees. This enormous public message, the photos and video footage of the groups creating it will be on display at Sonder Studio Gallery during Refugee Week.
We believe that we can contribute to bringing about change, by raising awareness and humanising the people the Australian government has dehumanised and incarcerated in the offshore and onshore detention camps, and those people Australia turns back into Indonesia, or those waiting for humanitarian resettlement held up in other countries around the world. We want people to connect with refugees suffering in limbo in refugee camps, and with those who have had their lives ripped apart and now trying to recover, after up to nine long years of inhumane detention on Nauru and Manus. We want to bring more awareness, compassion and understanding to the plight of the person seeking asylum. We want to stop the lies, demonisation and dehumanisation of innocent people. We believe it starts with sharing human stories.
The exhibition will open at 6pm, on Saturday 18 June, until Sunday 26 June (opening on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays at 10am - 4pm). Booking essential to this free event. Book here https://events.humanitix.com/the-global-need-for-healing-exhibition
