Celebrate Refugee Week with us at Brunswick Baths as we unveil a powerful new mural titled 'A Graffiti for Jina.'
This year's theme, 'Finding Freedom,' focuses on showcasing the journey of refugees in finding freedom, whether it be through a new home, a new career, finding friendships, community, or ways to free others.
Join Mayor Cr Angelica Panopoulos in the unveiling ceremony of the mural created by Feminista Melbourne.
Dedicated to Jina Amini, a young Iranian woman whose tragic death ignited the ongoing freedom movement in Iran, the mural carries the message "Respect my existence or expect my resistance."
This event provides an opportunity to meet local refugee advocates, engage with artists, and gain a deeper understanding of the diverse experiences of refugees.
Enjoy light refreshments and let children express their creativity with chalk on the streets.
