We’re proud to be joining the Big Walk for Refugees, a month-long virtual walk starting June 1st; symbolising the long, often invisible journeys of people displaced by conflict and crisis. This year’s route connects Australia with Indonesia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea and Christmas Island — reflecting the pathways of tens of thousands of people still waiting for safety and certainty.
We are walking together for:
- Thousands of people in our communities still waiting for permanent visas after 13 years
- 14,000 people stranded in Indonesia, still waiting for resettlement after 12 years
- 100 + people on Nauru without certainty for their future since October 2023
- 40 men and their families abandoned in Papua New Guinea since 2013

3. Log your steps via the Big Challenge app or website (you can update your steps automatically by connecting with your Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit, Garmin, etc – or log your steps manually)
