The Canberra Community World Cup is a community futsal tournament co-hosted by Amnesty International Australia ACT/Southern NSW and the Canberra Palestine Community.
Teams from across Canberra's communities come together to compete for the cup - and to enjoy the kind of connection that happens when a city's communities share a pitch.
This year's event marks the beginning of Refugee Week 2026, a time to celebrate the strength, courage, and contributions of refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia.
Following the success of last year's tournament, we are excited to bring the Canberra Community World Cup back for another year. Matches kick off at 1:30 pm. Refreshments will be available throughout the event, and a light lunch will be served by 5:00 pm.
There will also be a court available for kids to play, making this a wonderful occasion to come together with your family and friends, not just as spectators, but as part of the celebration.
This is a free event, no tickets or registration required, though registering is appreciated to help us with catering and serving.
If your community would like to form a team and join the competition, please fill in our team registration form by the end of May: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdjykdXhS6vs8CuVAsomUnUgM9rVcymDqPtznZ-63ZSLUaTdg/viewform
Please let us know if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing you all!
