Join us at Five Dock Library as part of Refugee Week for a talk by Gul from the Refugee Council of Australia. She will speak about her experience as a refugee who journeyed to Australia from Afghanistan.

About the presenter

Gul was born and raised in Afghanistan, where she pursued her education with determination despite ongoing conflict, instability and systemic barriers facing women. She holds a Bachelor of Education and double master's degrees in social and public health. Gul has worked with a range of local and international organisations, including Jesuit Refugee Service, BRAC Afghanistan and the Aga Khan Foundation, training and supporting vulnerable communities often in challenging conditions.
