For too long, the voices of refugees and people seeking asylum have been absent from our conversations. The exclusion of their stories continues to disempower and marginalise refugees, representing them as passive recipients of aid.
When refugees speak, their stories and issues affecting them are less likely to be misrepresented. When they raise their voices, they are empowered as leaders whose words can create important change within our community.
You can help to amplify refugee voices and change the national dialogue around refugees and people seeking asylum by supporting our Face-to-Face program. Your donations will help. It will fund essential speaker training, project and meeting expenses, travel costs, staff and volunteer support, without which the program wouldn’t be possible.
