Celebrate Refugee Week with a Cooking Class
Would you like to learn more about Iranian and Armenian cuisine? Bring your appetite and get ready to start cooking!
House of Welcome Catering presents Festive Friday Cooking Classes – a way to bring us together to celebrate the powerful contributions refugee and people seeking asylum make to our communities.
Our catering social enterprise uses the power of food to connect communities and to empower people from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds to participate in employment opportunities and pathways. It provides a platform to showcase their skills, talents, and diverse experiences – which enrich our economic and social fabric.
At Auburn Centre for Community on June 24, two of our client cooks will share some much-loved recipes and teach you how to cook authentic meals from their cultural backgrounds.
The class is a collaborative affair so get ready to roll up your sleeves and immerse yourself right into the action; the amazing smells are sure to stimulate your appetite! Once everything is ready, dinner is served and you can settle in for an evening with your fellow participants and our cooks, to learn more about the traditions and culture of Iran and Armenia.
Come along and learn new skills, eat delicious food, and support our amazing cooks who will host the evening.
Tickets are $90 and this buys you everything you’ll need to cook up and dine-in. The class can cater to dietary needs and vegetarian options are available.
Class numbers are small so act quickly! To book please visit our website www.howcatering.org.au/the-good-store.
All proceeds go to supporting refugees and people seeking asylum.
Thank you for your support.
