Hands-on cooking experience presented as part of Grow, Gather, Share for Refugee Week.

In this cooking workshop, Free to Feed instructor Tayebeh Mousavi will share her secrets to making her famous Sambousek.

Originally from Ilam, a Kurdish city in the western part of Iran, Tayebeh grew up with a fusion of influences from her Iranian grandmother and Iraqi mother. Over the last couple of years, she has embarked on a journey to create vegan alternatives to many of her favourite Kurdish dishes. Persian cooking is well known for its rich meat meals and buttery flavours, but Tayebeh’s modern twists to traditional recipes have seen her create healthier alternatives that are both delicious and fun to make.

In this workshop you will participate in making vegan Sambousek. This tasty appetiser is not a full lunch, but a small baked morsel. Please email [email protected] if you require gluten free pastry to be supplied so that we can cater to your dietary needs.
