"This year is very significant as it is not only the 40th anniversary of Refugee Week or the 75th year since signing the Refugee Convention, but it also marks the milestone of one million permanent humanitarian visas from Australia since 1947. This milestone is more than just a number, it represents and celebrates one million unique and personal stories. 

This time, it is incredibly vital to outline the wonderful contributions that refugees have made to Australia, as the humanitarian program that has brought us this achievement is under threat"
