The Australian Karen Organisation Inc. is once again participating in the yearly Refugee Week program, with the theme this year being “challenge of change”.

Such a day is dedicated to those refugees who have been able to overcome their hardships; and is a time for us all to reflect on the many adverse trials and tribulations they have experienced over the years.

The aims of the celebration are to raise community awareness with regards to the human rights and humanitarian situation in Burma; to encourage Burma civilian government for a genuine transition towards democracy, cease ethnic conflicts and restoration of national reconciliation; and to raise funds for the food assistance of Internally Displaced People of Burma.

The program includes speeches, cultural performances and live entertainment.

Refreshment will be served. Admission will be free.
