Overview

Join us on REFUGEE WEEK to celebrate diversity, culture, and community with music, food, and fun for all!

Connect, Celebrate, Shine!

Refugee Week celebrates the strength, resilience, and diverse stories of people from refugee backgrounds. It is a time to recognise their valuable contributions to our communities and to promote understanding, inclusion, and belonging for all.

Refugee Week is observed every year in June and provides an opportunity to reflect on the journeys, experiences, and achievements of refugees who have rebuilt their lives in Australia.

The 2026 theme, “A Million Stories”, highlights the many voices, journeys, and lived experiences of refugees. Each story is unique, powerful, and contributes to the rich cultural fabric of our society. It is a time to listen, learn, and celebrate the courage and strength behind every story.

WSMRC invites everyone to come together in solidarity and acknowledge that these stories enrich our communities and help build a more inclusive and compassionate society.

Join us for a vibrant community celebration featuring multicultural music, engaging activities, inspiring guest speakers, and delicious food. WSMRC, together with our valued local partners, has prepared a meaningful and memorable event to honour and celebrate A Million Stories.

Note to Attendees:

  • For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, parents or guardians must remain responsible for their children throughout the event.
