Join us this Refugee Week for a special screening of The Merger

Set in a struggling country town, the local footy team is on the brink of folding and turns to newly arrived refugees to survive.

The film begins with strong language and familiar stereotypes, reflecting real tensions in the community. But as teammates train, play and get to know one another, those assumptions are gradually broken down, revealing the many individual stories behind each person and building friendship, respect and a shared sense of belonging.

Funny, thoughtful and deeply human, The Merger reflects this year’s Refugee Week theme, A Million Stories, showing how connection and community grow when people are truly welcomed. Enjoy a multicultural treat while you watch.
