Canberra Museum and Gallery is proud to present Settled/ Unsettled – an exhibition that uses the universal language of visual art to address personal and profound issues faced by Australia’s asylum seekers, refugees and migrants.

The exhibition was conceived by high-profile Australian artists, Kathrin Longhurst, Angus McDonald, Penny Byrne and Mewish Iqbal and first exhibited at Manly Art Gallery and Museum. The iteration at CMAG features work by these artists as well as works by local artists, Armadeep Shergill, Emma Rani Hodges, Musonga Mbogo, Petra Jungamanova, Lee Grant and Mandy Martin who examine how experiences of conflict, the separation of families and cultural displacement shape the lives of new Australians, and how issues of hybrid-identity, intergenerational trauma and guilt affect first-and second-generation immigrants.

The free exhibition runs until 25 June.
