The Somali and CALD Refugee Week Festival will take
place from Sunday 18th June 2023 - Saturday 24th June
2023 and will be a week long celebration which will
promote cross-cultural awareness and understanding of
the refugee experiences of Somali and CALD residents
of Western and South-Western Sydney. We will engage
a broad cross-section of the NSW communities and not
solely rely on multicultural communities to attend in order
to ensure NSW’s multicultural communities can celebrate,
preserve and share traditions be accessible by the general
public and are for all communities.

This week long community festival will foster community
harmony and celebrate our rich cultural diversity which
forms part of our identity and way of life. We will have
Somali traditional dancing called 'dhaanto', as well as
invite other multicultural communities to showcase their
cultural dance, food, music and traditional clothing. This
event will take place during Refugee Week.

Will you come?
