Omar Al Kassab, a notable public speaker and youth, community and humanitarian leader passionate about social change and humanitarian causes and Zaynab Farah, a Somali Melbourne-based spoken word artist.

Hear their facinating stories and gain an understanding of what brought them to Australia. Leave the event with greater empathy to refugee and asylum seekers' experience and an understanding of how you can help people who settle in Australia.

There will an opportunity for you to ask questions, and we encourage you to ask one ahead of the event! Submit your questions here.

Refugee Week, June 20-26, provides an opportunity to celebrate the ways in which people from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds enrich our community. It is a chance for ordinary people to welcome, thank and celebrate their neighbours who have come seeking safety.
