Featuring Afro Urban Sounds (AUS)

Formed in 2024 in Melbourne, Afro Urban Sounds blends contemporary grooves with sounds inspired by the richness and diversity of the African continent.

The music brings together influences from South Africa and Ghana, creating a meeting point of styles, stories, and rhythms.

Patrick Daniels draws on South Africa’s vibrant musical landscape, expressing storytelling through his piano and keyboard work, shaping textures that are both soulful and dynamic.

Vyda brings her Ghanaian roots into the mix through Afrobeat and modern Afro-fusion, adding a refined, expressive and energetic layer to the band’s sound.

Together with a dynamic rhythm section—James Brown, Tim Greenough and Jim Swainston on bass, drums and guitar—the band creates a full, immersive live experience.

Whether you come to unwind, listen, or dance, Afro Urban Sounds invites you into a world of rhythm, feeling, and connection.

This event is supported by City of Yarra and Victorian State Government's North Richmond Precinct program.
