Australia Western Sahara Association (AWSA) will host a Watch Party on Thursday 18 June at 6pm. We will screen "Sirocco - Winds of Resistance” a compelling 30 minute Canadian documentary about phosphate and resistance. Two young Saharawi women talk about their grandmothers who inspired them to espouse the cause of the Saharawi people.
The screening will be followed by a 30 minute Q&A with
- Kamal Fadel, Representative of the Frente Polisario (Western Sahara) in Australia and New Zealand
- The Hon Dr Meredith Burgmann AM, Former President of the NSW Legislative Council
- Dr Randi Irwin, Lecturer in Dept of Sociology and Anthropology University of Newcastle
